Author Description Ian Brown is a Scottish playwright, poet and freelance scholar. He is General Editor of <i>The Edinburgh History of Scottish Literature</i> (EUP: 2007) and series editor of <i>The Edinburgh Companions to Scottish Literature</i>, co-editing the volume on the twentieth century (2009) and on drama (2011). He publishes on theatrical, literary and cultural topics and is a visiting professor at Glasgow and Glamorgan Universities.<br /><br />In 1977, Brown worked for the British Council in Istanbul.
